Pilio was the favorite summer resort of the ancient Greek Gods. This amazing place combines wonderfully mountains and sea. This paradise is full of drinking fountains, plane and apple trees, chest nut wood forests, oaks, gardenias, hydrangeas and camellias. During Spring, nature flourishes in this fertile soil like nowhere else. In Autumn, an unbelievable colour palette of orange and red hues unfolds before your eyes. Pathways and traditional houses are covered with snow during Winter. During summer period you must visit the amazing beaches with multi-colored waters.

Pilio is not so well known thus making it an ideal place for those who seek tranquility, diversity and also love to immerse in the slow paces of the local area. Pilio has numerous charming villages like Makrinitsa, Chania, Tsagarada, Portaria, Milies…. All villages have beautiful fountains with drinkable waters, central square around which you can have your coffee, or traditional meal, or buy handmade art souvenirs. In Pilio you can enjoy hiking, skiing in Chania village, you should walk through the numerous pebble stone paths, enjoy the rich vegetation, the waterfalls, the streams, the caves, dive in the clean waters of Milopotamos, Agios Ioannis & Papa Nero beaches Centaur’s Path  is a gem in Pilio, definitely worth visiting. According to Greek Mythology, Centaurs were hybrid beasts (half humans and half horses) who used to live on the mount of Pilio and where directly related to all the negative natural phenomena, such as sudden climate changes or any unexpected weather conditions.  Following the Centaur’s path, you will feel you are in paradise. This path is divided into 2 parts, one leads you to a village and the other to its exit. The path is marked with red circles of stones to avoid deviation from it From Pilio, you can take a ferry and visit the amazing green islands of Skiathos, Skopelos & Alonissos where Mama Mia movie was filmed. In Pilio you can enjoy delicious regional and locally sourced meat, vegetables and herb dishes and of course sea food! Try the local products of Pilio such as apples, chestnuts, strawberries, honey, wild peanuts, the ‘kritama’ which are small plants coming out of the crevices of the rocks in the sea, asparagus, mushrooms.
